And since it is widely believed that every day is Halloween on South Street, it is fitting that the District does it up right inviting Trick Or Treaters of all ages to come to the all new and improved “Hippest Street In Town” for the Biggest Halloween Party in Philadelphia!
A Head Start On The Weekend With A South Street Friday Happy Hour!
In costume or just loosening up the business attire of the work week…starting on Halloween everyone is invited to come to South Street every Friday 5 – 7 PM through the Holidays for a special Happy Hour promotion involving 20 or more bars and restaurants in the area. All participating establishments will be offering Cocktail, Beer & Wine Specials and Complimentary Appetizers. Three Halloween Parties For All Ages
Three featured events of the celebration offer entertainment, prizes and South Street fun for Halloweeners of all ages. Continuing the “Day of the Dead” tradition the District presents a FREE Concert & Costume Contest featuring legendary Grateful Dead tribute band Splintered Sunlight 7 - 11 PM. The location of the concert and judging stage is Passyunk & South Street. There will be a $2 registration fee to enter the Costume Contest.In addition to $1,000 in cash prizes for best costumes, free main stage concert tickets, dinner and gift certificates will also be distributed to runner-up winners.
A second stage & costume judging area at 2nd & South Streets will feature top DJs spinning the latest house, hip-hop and classic dance playlists. This party zone will also feature a separate Costume Contest with an additional $1,000 in cash prizes, concert tickets, dinner certificates and other giveaways. There will be a $2 registration fee to enter the Costume Contest.
A third attraction just for the kids is a specially spooky Haunted Hall -- the Historic Headhouse, 2nd & Lombard, transf ormed with all kinds of fun creepy ghosts, goblins, skeletons and Halloween décor. Kids from infants (with parents of course) to 12 years old are welcome to experience the Haunted Hall and enter the Costume Contest which takes place 6:30 PM. There will be a $1 registration fee to enter the Haunted Hall & Costume Contest.

The Haunted Hall will be open from 5 PM – 9 PM.10,000 Freebie & VIP Consideration cards will be distributed at the Halloween events listing the names of all participating bras, restaurants, shops and boutiques. Every establishment will offer the holders of these cards special deals!

After the big Halloween Bash, the South Street Headhouse District welcomes the annual shopping season with the Holiday Tree & Street Lighting on Sunday, November 30. This annual event features costumed Carolers, Santa arriving by Fire Truck, complimentary hot cocoa and holiday treats, and a celebration the true spirit of season -- fellowship and goodwill to all!
Again this season the merchants and restaurants of the area will be distributing ALL ACCESS HOLIDAY SHOPPING & DINING PASS discount cards good for big $$$$ savings at all participating establishments.
